Toying with selling my 320
Well, I got my 320 when two kids were turning into four kids, but unfortunate circumstances have left the number at two and i'm beginning to feel that i have too much space in my well-loved GL320.
What do you guys perceive as the marketability of a fully-loaded black 07, 14k miles, with full warranty for 7 years or 100k miles? I paid $75 and change with everything...

For $75K, you must have full leather, distronic, and RES?

Everything, full leather etc. BUT Distronic...the $75 included the cost of the added warranty coverage.

carpersn - things always happen for a reason so hang in there. It will get better. I don't think you should have any problems selling your 320. What does kbb/edmunds say for resale value of yours?

Historically, Edmunds and KBB, do not do well with true resale of diesels. It's almost like they take the resale value of the whole product line and add, or in this case subtract, the price difference of the depreciated diesel. They don't seem to reflect factors like supply and demand, diesel's longevity, and regional popularity. I have always been able to get more than either of them have valued my diesels, even at trade-in. I got about $2.5K more trade-in for the Excursion than they had it listed, over the phone, sight unseen.
BTW, my sales rep told me about two weeks ago that they can no longer find '08 GL 320's to trade for and all of their build allocations have names on them for the forseeable future.
I did find 4 '07 GL 450's at Park Place. They all have around 9-10K miles and are listed for 59,900 - 60,900. The higher one has leather. I don't know if that helps or not.

Sorry to hear that. But you will have to take a hit and probably a good size one. Production is up I would think and there are a lot more 320's on the lots now. Someone indicated FJ's had 8 in their basement showroom! So selling a used one may be hard. You don't say how old your GL is but 14,000 miles on a '07 is pretty high mileage so that may work against you also. The warranty will be a big help though in moving it once you have an interested party. Wish you the best of luck and hope my pessimism is wrong.

I was just at FJ on Friday night and they had 7 320 cdi, 4 450 and 3 550 which two were marked sold. I should have brought my digital camera. I couldnt test drive the 550 but drove the 320 and 450 again back to back and its tough to tell the difference between the two. I am going back later this week for a 550 test drive. Jack I will have to get with you still and check out your 550. FJ is real stingy on letting people drive their 550s. I guess the 320 is their top seller right now according to the sales guy since Cali people are trying to come to LV to get them.

$75.... its amazing I spent almost $20 less for the same truck. Options can get pretty wild, huh?
Id be curious too, I haven't seen a used one anywhere.. hard to get without a long wait for the 320 right now around here.

And, like TV says, used 320s are pretty hard to find in CA. But then again, carpersn is in NC and not sure if he wants to do a cross country sale.

What does 2 versus 4 kids have to do with enjoying the safety and comfort of a GL320?
I have 1 kid and love the truck and wouldn't give it up. I feel like my wife and son are safe driving around in it and that is what is important.
Plus, take a driving vacation trip with 2 kids and you will appreciate the cargo room. We took a beach trip and had the whole truck packed; 3rd row seats folded down and the second row split seat on the passenger side folded down.

Took the Gl on a ski trip this weekend with 4 adults, 2 children and ski gear for all -- enough space and felt quite comfortable. Same is true when its just my wife or I driving it alone or with our children. While its plenty big it drives like a much smaller vehicle, feels very safe and great handling.

Thanks for all the feedback, gentlmen (and ladies if your screenname has mislead me)...
I love the vehicle and do find it nimble and believe in its safety features...my wife's E wagon fits the bill for trips just as well, however, and i'm simply considering downsizing to the ML. I guess if i can get anywhere near $60, i'd probably consider it. My dealership is awesome and i have actually sold a car to a guy that the DEALER referred to me b/c they knew i had one like he wanted, so i may try that if i decide to do it.
Meanwhile, I'll continue enjoying while i ponder.
and thanks to those of you with the personal remarks...it has been a long year.

KBB doesn't list the CDI but Private Party value for the 450 is about 50k in excellent condition.
I popped in to this sub fora because I just spent and entire day looking at potential replacements for my 8 year old Land Rover and my wife loved the GL 320 CDI. I see that everyone here seems to love their truck and I haven't seen any threads devoted to early problem trends.
