I am planning to buy new car and There is only two cars which I really think to buy one of them. but I am not sure which one is better GL550 or LX570. I looking for better performance and specifications. Both of them are new and luxury cars, but what are things that make GL550 preferred over the LX570 in your thoughts?

One of the things I hated most about lexus, and I dont know if this goes for all models but my wife and I rented a RX 350 on vacation once because we wanted an suv that had navigation. It was the worst GPS system I have ever dealt with. Every time you would want to go into the menu to adjust your destination you would have to be at a complete stop, even if there was a passenger in the car. Also when you were supposed to make a turn you would hear an annoying " BING - BING " sound that I could not find in the menus to turn off. Maybe I am just crazy .I also think of lexus as an over priced toyota.

I am in the same boat you are. I think the cargo area of the GL 550 is more practical due to flat cargo bay when seats are folded. The third row seats of the GL 550 are actually useable for adults and fold away flat not fold to the sides. Handling on the GL 550 will be flatter and with less body motions. Lexus dominates in electronics with the touch screen but this is negated by the fact they cannot be used in motion. Looks of the GL 550 is way better than the LX. Both have the same gas mileage. Both have equal luxury appointments in the interior for leather and wood although the LX has air cooled seats, however the mercedes has stitched leather everywhere. I like the LX has all those new cameras. Both cost the same. LX can go off road hardcore if needed.
Lexus ownership experience is the best of any manufacturer I can attest to that. MB not sure since I have not owned one. BMW is the worst and I have owned three and this current 550 will be my last for a while.
My only worry about the LX is that it will behave like my GX on the road which is horrible. My wife gets motion sickness in the GX so I got rid of it. I havent test drove the LX yet. In general though Toyota or Lexus SUVs do not do well on the road except for the RX and highlander and thats because they are both unit body.
Really tough decision. I am also thinking about the Sequoia Platinum which many online reviewers are saying its better than the LX for ride and function. The wheel base of the Sequoia is the same as the GL 550. The interior of the sequoia looks very cheap though, I dont think I can live with it very long.
LX does not have HID lights which is retarded for a SUV that expensive.
That puts me back to the GL series, if the LX can ride on the road like the GL I would get it but I am not holding my breath.

Agree with everything that's been said here, and in addition, for the GL, I really like the unbelievable front seat leg room, especially if you're tall like me (6'5"), and the perfectly flat cargo area when seats are lowered (as touched on before). I'm also more into better gas mileage than power, therefore, I'm partial to the less expensive diesel GL which the larger Lexus or Toyota SUV's can't touch, that is, at least for now.

Not even close - 550 ALL THE WAY! I know you were comparing a Lexus/fancy Toyota...but I drove an X5 with the sport package when my GL was being serviced this week...I nearly chipped a tooth and hurled from all the bouncing around! Got in my GL and it was like I was laying in bed...the bumps completely disappeared!

Same here, we did not like ride of our GX and my wife had the same issue with motion sickness if she sat in the back -- we sold ours as well. Before getting the GL we thought about the LX but none were yet available for a test drive. The third row seat was also a let down given they are not integrated into the floor and take up lot's of space. We have not regreted the GL purchase at all.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR QUICK RESPONSE, But I am afraid that dealer response is much slower than yours.
actually I went to the dealer shop and I found GL550 is out of stock, the next shipment is going to arrive in middle march; AND I booked the last car. the car looks exactly like the car which is in this page

I agree with everyone that lexus is not different from toyota; I have toyota land cruiser and I drove lexus LX 470; the differences are in the specifications and Lexus symbol. the driving style of lexus is exactly the same as toyota. But I am wondering will the GL550 will serve me well for 8 years? Once a month i like to take my land cruiser to the desert for safari trip, I think this safari trip is going to challenge the power of the GL550.

As for a soul - I'm convinced my GL is possessed. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

But have you driven the new LC and LX570? Not so much carbon copies anymore.

GL550 is the best choice ,,, I did not test drive the new LC ,but many people said it is the same as the pervious version of LC in driving style, it has more options than the previous version. But I agree that LC never fail you off-road.

The LX started off as a upscale land cruiser. Had a understated elegance to it's exterior with a leather covered interior.
Now, the LX is too rubinesque for my taste, it looks like a hippo and the interior has the lexus sea of plastic buttons all over.
IMHO, i would get the GL550

Of the brands we've owned lately (Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Nissan, Chevy and MB) the Toyota had the easiest to use, most helpful NAV IMO. No touch screen, MB? Really? Argh. That being said, buy the MB and have fun driving and then buy a good portable GPS and navigate that way.

I have to comment now...the touch screen NAVs i have used, have left smear marks and oils all over the screen; not from "dirty" hands, but simply from hands that are like everyone elses. Like your cellphone screen-it gets NASTY! I'm not saying that the MB NAV couldn't be slightly more intuitive, and be birds-eye view, etc., but i would NOT want the touchscreen. Get the Voice Control and enter the info from the touch of one button and your voice.
