I stand by my statement that clean enough for 45 states is clean enough for me. I do not believe that CO2 emissions cause global warming.
Topping off another tank isn't going to make service that much more expensive. It will be like topping off any other fluid, like winshield washer fluid. Much ado about nothing IMO. Clean enough for you, well that doesn't cut it when MB wants to go nationwide and get the big Cali and Northeast markets. I don't buy the global warming bs either, but you're making way too much out a tank of fluid.

Okay, we're kind of getting off topic here, and I hope I am not offending anyone by posting this stuff. But my own education regarding science is that when someone says, "The debate is over," the debate's just begun. And science is accomplished through facts, not "consensus."

No spare tires for BlueTec GL's

BlueTec equiped GL's will have spare tires REPLACED with the AdBlue tank (according to my dealer 3/23/08). One MORE reason 45 state compliant is good enough for me.

WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT?!?!

We're now supposed to drive around on the highways without a spare? I'm 150 miles from nowhere on I40 and I have a blowout, and no spare?Suddenly the idea of trading up in two years became much less appealing.

GL Fahrer response in another thread:

"That's right, the standard tire/wheel for the MY2009 GL320 BlueTEC is:

Goodyear Eagle 275/50 R20 109H M+S MOExtended
on 8.5j x 20" 5-spoke alloy rims."

Anyone have these run flat tires and know the range of them in flat mode?

Yeah I saw that run-flat comment. But if you hit something with the tire - say a gatorback or some big piece of metal's thrown into your path and it shreds your tire, then the run-flats aren't going to mean a whole lot. Hopefully you're not out of cell range at that point!

Right now the warning says that under normal load the Run-Flat tire should not be driven more than 50 km (31 mi) when alerted by the TPWS.
