GL not starting

GL not starting

My wife went out to start her GL320 and it wouldnt..It crancked over for a few seconds but no luck....After 4-5 tries it finally started...Has anyone ever experianced this?? Do you think this might have to do with the crank recall??

It's probably not the crank recall, that would simply not allow your car to run at all. You might have a bad battery, there could be any number of other things wrong with it. Definately take it in and see if it generated an error code!

I had them pick it up today..i dont think its a bad battery cause it turns over like its trying to start. My check engine light was on as well

My service advisor called late this afternoon and he told after speaking with MB its more than likely the crank shaft sensor that was on recall. Although the recall said this bad sensor would cause the car to shut down it can also not let it start although that is rare....So we i'm picking it up tomm and hope thats what it was...

Huh, that's the info I was going by! From the recall paperwork, I was under the impression that the big problem was not that the crankshaft sensor could potentially fail (or a mount for it, something like that) but that when it did the car wouldn't go into limp mode, just shut down. I guess not!

Well dealer called me this morning and told me it wouldnt start again, and after they put the computer to find out the problem they say it was the fuel pump was cutting out. so they ordered a new one will be here Monday
