AdBlue Answer?

While I was looking at the YouTube video of John Kanzius burning salt water, I thought to meself, "What would it take to convert an internal combustion engine to run on hydrogen?" It turns out that Motor Trend found hydrogen's use in current technology offers some promise. It's offering a 20-30% increase in fuel economy for gas engines. All well and good, giving a gas engine diesel's economy, but what does it do for us kerosene burners?

What, you didn't read the title of this thread? It turns out that hydrogen is more efficient than urea at breaking down the NOx that the urea, or "AdBlue," does that makes our diesels 50-state emissions compliant. And it can be generated on board so it doesn't have to be stored. The return of the spare tire! Woo-hoo!

Or something. Here's the article;

Big problem with H is need for heavy pressure vessel--adding weight to vehicle seldom works as an economy measure..

There is, of course, no hydrogen distribution system in place in the US. It might be likely that we'll have pothole-free roads first.

Unless I mis-read the article, there's no need for a pressure system because an H generator will provide enough to add to the exhaust system without the need for a supplemental holding tank. In point of fact, if I'm not misunderstanding, it'll generate enough to add to the gasoline injection to allow the petrolium system to run extra-lean (while responding to throttle changes) thus giving gas the same efficiency as diesel. I think that was like the point of the article.
