GL550 HELP (my first post)
My wife's birthday is July 5th and I promised to buy her the car of her choice. She picked the black/black GL550 with keyless go.
Any suggestions on a good dealer that is offering big discounts? What are you guys paying and what dealer did you use?
Also, I head the keyless go is standard in 09. Does anyone know the delivery dates of the 2009?
Hurry, i need to get this wrapped up. I live in Orlando, FL and the dealer here wants MSRP.
These forums are great!!! I used the info from the guys on the Viper forum and saved a ton of cash on that car.
Thanks!

Don't know of any good dealers in FL, so can't help you there.
If you're willing to come to Colorado, Nevada Jack has a great salesperson out here at Westminster Mercedes (Greg Weiler). Do an advanced search on this forum and you'll find his telephone number.
I'm sure others from California can give you some good dealers that are willing to offer pretty big discounts on a 550. Your dealer is smokin' something, as there is no way you should have to pay MSRP on an '08 550 today.

I do not know of any FL dealers, but you might want to try getting a price through carsdirect.com and use that as your price point for negotiations. Either the dealer will match the price or you go home & click the button on your computer to get the price...I've used this strategy to buy 4 cars and each time, the dealer has mached the price of carsdirect.com or beat it. I bought my GL450 through Autoland which is affiliated with credit unions. You may also want to check them out

We just picked up our 320 CDI this week and our sales manager was very aggressive in discounting the vehicle. His dealership is in the mid-west, but he could easily arrange to have the 550 you want shipped to you. If interested PM me and I'll give you his contact info. Good luck with the search.

I would also second Jen's opinion of trying carsdirect.com and using their price for negotiating with your local dealer. And, please, don't tell your dealer that you need the car by 7/5 for wife's birthday. They will use that against you.
Lastly, you have more than a month so like Stumble says, don't be afraid of exploring all over. I know dealers here in SoCal will ship anywhere and you may end up still saving a lot more.
All the best.
