larger tires on 18" wheels??

I just got a 320 CDI and it is great!!!

Question- I know this goes contrary to the current "trends" but has anyone tried putting larger 18" tires on the truck??

Specifically 265/70 R18 ?? The have an O.D. of ~32" which is a bit bigger than the standard 30.5" size, but they look like they should fit with no problem, especially given the same profile

The speedometer error you create may nicely hide the decrease in fuel mileage!

I haven't seen anyone rolling around on 265/70R18 tires, but I have seen folks on 285/60R18s... Specifically Nitto Terra Grapplers with a 31.3 diameter... Check them out at http://www.nittotire.com/#index%2Eti...appler%2Esizes

I have already settled on our next set of tires... Same size as stock 265/60R18, but 60K mile warrantee and a more aggressive tread design...
