Advice: Lemon Law?

My GL450 has been at the dealers 3X over past week. The liftgate closes, but doesn't lock, thus a warning light comes on. I have to manually pull on the liftgate latch so that it closes.
They've been replacing parts, latches, etc. I even showed the mechanic on the third visit today. The same problem again when I checked at home.
It's very frustrating. The dealer have been very professional, but it's not easy to visit the dealer 3X per week for the same results.

Does "Lemon Law" pertain to this situation?

Any advice? Anyone have this problem or latch solution, please let me know so I can pass it on to the dealer.

I think several of us have had situations where we needed the door latch adjusted in some way. I don't know of anyone else who went through this much, though, and I do believe we've all had the issue resolved.

I assume you've read this (the California Song-Beverly Warranty Rights)?

Sounds awful. you might want to try another dealer. Has the service manager or the shop foreman been involved in your trucks repair?

I've taken it to MBZ Anaheim 3X b/c I bought the car there. I think I'll take it there a 4th time Monday. If they can't resolve it, I'll probably take it to different dealer. Is that a problem as far as warranty is concerned?
The 3rd time I met with the tech to show him exactly what the problem was. Seems like he understood. I'm not sure if he was the service manager though.

What I don't understand is do they test it after completion?
B/c it failed to lock 5 out of 6 attempts when I checked. Seems like such an obvious step, that I didn't even check when I picked up the vehicle.
I'll be sure to check at the dealer next time.

Ah the same retarded folks that Kaila had to deal with. Caliber aka MBZ of Anaheim are full of idiots.

Bring your car down to Laguna Niguel. Best dealership in the world IMO.

Have you been to others in ROW? Lets see; you're an advocate for a certain sponsor on here who happens to be ROW and not cereal state based.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Ever since they replaced the locking mechanism on my tailgate it is now rubbing real bad. I will NOT be taking it to Anaheim for the fix.

Use another dealer to fix your problem. They have to honor your warranty. It sounds like your current dealer does not know what it is doing.

Thanks for advice everyone. I didn't think one dealer could be so different from others. I think I will take to a different dealer, especially if it's covered with warranty.
How is service department at House of Imports? It's a little closer than Laguna Niguel. But will go there if I have to.

House of Imports is another great dealership. See if they can fix your problem first before trying MBLN.

Thanks for advice.

Too bad I live so close to bad MBZ dealer. Guess it's worth it to drive further to get it done right.

occarfan-I too have been dealing with the incompetent service department at Anaheim. My car battery has died 3 times since I bought it in March and they can not figure out why. This last time I took it to Walter's in Riverside. They did alright. This is the longest my car has gone without dying. I am not completely convinced that it is fixed, but Walter's definitely went the extra mile to try and diagnose the problem. I also called MBUSA and got assigned a Rep. to assist me with my repairs and possibly future by back (lemon law) The next time it dies (#4) I will call my Rep and discuss vehicle replacement. And of course, meet MB Fanatic a MBLN Good luck, I know first hand how frustrating this is.

most likely - no. lemon law cases usually go through when the problem is safety-related. a non-locking liftgate is most likely not. unless you are really creative...
