23.8 MPG
recently i got this milage from my gl450. drove from CT to NJ. average speed was 55-65 on cruise. and got 23.8 MPG

My computer seems to be a bit too optimistic - consistently overestimating overall fuel economy by about 1-2 MPG, although the longer range mileage calculation is more accurate (which makes sense). I calculate mileage the way scottybdiving suggests, the actual miles driven divided by what went into the tank. One thing I've also noticed is that I seem to get more miles on the first quarter of the tank, than on the second, and so on, which leads me to believe the fuel guage is not exactly calibrated to the fuel level in the tank.

We went up-n-back to Beaver Creek this weekend, as well as up-n-down to Denver yesterday. Computer said that my mpg was 19.9 since the last fill-up and the fuel gauge was sitting at 5/8ths of a tank. After putting in 12.63 gallons into the tank, my calculation showed that my actual mileage was 17.8 mpg. So, as you state, my computer overestimated fuel economy by 2 gallons.
I'm curious to let the next tank go almost to empty before filling up to see if the computer adjusts better to full tank usage.

Although the trip computer was still optimistic, it was only +3.7% higher than the actual calculation, versus the +11.8% as noted above on a 5/8ths full tank.

Pulling a 2,500lb trailer through the mountains, then through surface streets cross-town. Average speed: 91km/h (56 mph)
Met another GL CDI owner in the same campground, and he was pulling a similar trailer, but he came down from Edmonton and only got 12.2 l/100km or 23 mpg imp. or 19 mpg US, but his average speed was 130 km/h or 81 mph.
Gotta love that!
