Ah... the age old question pops up its head again here on the forum. I'm afraid to say Sexy that it all depends on your definition of the word "good".
To me it sounds like an awesome deal. Keep in mind though that I got one of the first 550's produced in '08 and was happy to pay 1% under MSRP.
However, only you can determine if your deal is good. If you are one of those people who must absolutely get the lowest price compared to everyone else, then no, I'd say it's not the best deal you can get.
Now, you have to decide. How much time do you want to spend, or wait for a better deal than what you have? What constitutes a better deal? Is it another $500 off, or is it $5,000?
Only you know what you can afford, as well as how important price is to your psyche.
If you want the truck, then I say you got a good price and should purchase it so that you can begin enjoying it immediately.
Best Wishes!

Like Stumble said, how much time and energy you want to invest in trying to get the "best" deal possible is where your trade off is. To me, invoice + 500 is a good deal as long as you remember that invoice is around 93% of MSRP.
All the best. You will enjoy a GL.

I understand
Check out this thread here started by a fella in the same boat as you.
A lot of folks would agree with you. I'm lucky that I live in a cold environment and don't really need them. However, I sure like my heated seats! ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Good Luck!

Let us know if you end up getting it (and of course post the obligatory pics) so that we can welcome you aboard properly!

No one EVER talks about the "dealer holdback" that amounts to 2% - 4% of dealer invoice. That is why almost all buyers think that "invoice " is the magical number. EVERY car company has this so the dealer is guaranteed a profit on each sale.
Plus, dealers make at least 1% on financing.
Don't get me wrong. If it wasn't for these incentives from the factory, we would all be paying MSRP and *****ing more and more.

Don't get me wrong, I don't work for a dealer and I love to spend as little as possible on the cars I buy. But it is unrealistic to expect that a dealer will sell a car without making a profit.

hdman - that is very true. But you do have to remember that dealer is selling cars to make a profit. An MB dealership is a not a non-profit organization. You can't go into negotiations thinking only of yourself. You have to factor in dealer's profit.

so it sounds like the dealer makes the built in money and the sales guys split is the negotiated price. ahhhhhh, so if i'm $500 over invoice, he is making $500. is that about it?
