FYI - Brand New '08GL320 in Pewter

I do not work for the dealer.

Stopped at Cherry Hill MB (southern NJ 20 minutes from Philadelphia) dealer yesterday to pick up a tag for a smart 42. Dealer has a new '08 GL320 in pewter with P1, 19" wheels and iPod kit on showroom floor. Thought you might like to know of its availability.

Some years, Conundrum's the nicest blend I can find. (Other years, it's skunk pee.)

Don't drink it so early then!

We opened a bottle of the 1991 Special Selection this year and I've got to say, it was the greatest bottle of wine I have ever had. Holding onto a bottle for so long, you always hope that everything you've done to store it properly is just right, and in this case, it was. Truly spectacular.

Caymus SS is a special wine - IIRC it is estate grown fruit. Their regular bottling has fruit sourced from Lewelling - a favorite daily drinker. Had a couple of bottles of the 2001 last night while celebrating PS over Purdue. Wine, filets, cheese, cigars, family and football - does not get any better.

Sounds like you had a good night as did I. I had an '01 Ch Montelena Estate, 18 oz NY Strips, and watched Texas at Colorado.

Jim,

I just teed up a bottle of Shafer HSS for Saturday. This is JoPa's year, so let's give him a shot at a national title before he calls it quits. Cheers.

HSS for a football game? What's on the menu if they go to a BCS?

A larger format? Scotty - only a '98 - an off year. Interesting link on the 1998 vintage.

A larger format would be nice if there are two of you.

If Texas were to pull off an upset tomorrow, I may open something nice. Probably not HSS but maybe a nice Barolo.

How about a Brunello from '01? There practically isn't a bad bottle in the lot from that year.

Enjoy the game.

I agree. I have quiet a few 01 Brunellos in the cellar as well as 97 and 99. I slightly prefer Piedmonts but the Tuscans are a very close 2nd, or more like 1a and 1b, for me.

In celebration of the Horns pulling off the upset, it will definitely be an Italian tonight.

I know what you mean.

Since my stinking team (Illinois) got beat today at home on homecoming weekend to a team (Minnesota) that was 1 - 11 last year, I think we'll be having Welch's tonight.

Just one game at a time. Tailgate 1PM Saturday. On deck - 2002 Anomaly and 2003 Shafer CS. Starters = sharp provolone with homemade fire roasted peppers & pepperoni. Shrimp, meatballs, chili, wings and BBQ. We are..........

Sounds like a recipe for a great time.

I'll be on my way to Lambeau field to watch the Packers play the Colts. We tend to avoid the grapes at tailgates, just good Wisconsin beer and maybe a few manhattens to keep the blood circulating. Go Pack!

There wouldn't be any "Old Style" or "Pabst Blue Ribbon" floating around. eh? I've been to "Wis KAHN sin" a few times. My in-laws are Badgers, class of 1950, but they live in Texas now due to getting away from the cold and being closer to their kids. There was only one place to buy Brats, according to my FIL, and that was some little neighborhood meat market in Oskosh, where he grew up. I have to admit, they were superior to the mass produced varieties.

JB - I had the pleasure of visiting Lambeau in September 2007 to watch my Eagles drop the season opener (sans KO returner). Stayed at the team hotel (Radisson Appleton where apparently all visiting teams are sequestered) and had an awesome dinner at The Seasons. Lambeau is a great experience - all football fans should check it out. Have a great w/e. Enjoy the game!

Ha! "Dog Style" and "Blue ..." Well, I can't repeat that one in mixed company. The worst is if you have a friend with the last name "Miller." Nothing you can do but drink that stuff.

Okay, yet another non-sequitor from STP.

I couldn't agree more. My Dad applied for season tickets in 1967 when we won Superbowl 1, got them in 1984, and were willed to me and my brother. It is an amazing experience and am glad I get to do it regularly. There are currently 80,000 people on the waiting list for season tickets, about 50 go off the list per year.
