Another Tire Question
I am starting to get sick of the road noise from my Continentals so I am going to bite the bullet and replace them even though they have some life left in them. I have the 19 inch wheels and in looking at the TireRack options they are pretty limited. Based on past experience my preference would be to get Michelin's but the only option are the Diamaris model which did not have vary favorable reviews on TireRack. In looking at Michelin's other models there is a Latitude Touring HP model that meets the load requirements but does not come in my size (275/55/19). The closest Latitude's size's are 255/55/19 and 275/45/19. Would it be a big deal going with either of the Latitude options or should I go with the exact size I have now and get the Diamaris? Thanks in advance for any opinions........

I have the 18" latitudes, and like them very much. We'll see when the snow flies, though... i'm likely gonna run snows, but we'll see.

The Latitudes are awesome tires (on OEM 18s), but pretty much shot at 23K miles. Going to take a hard look at the Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S G052 for replacements.

Different OD will affect your speedometer. Taller tire could affect acceleration because it's same as taller gear ratio . Certainly should not go shorter tire as you may be more prone to damaging wheel in a pot hole or risk blow out from overheating side wall ( and then MBZ could try to ding you for warranty related susp damage for installing a non-spec size tire ) as these are massively heavy vehicles to start with and can carry a lot of people and luggage .
End of the day, it's a high riding all-wheel drive truck with two driven axles that must ride on proper load range / proper zig-zag and siped tread pattern for snow/slush/cold climates tires that will never have it running as silently as a Lexus LS 460 if that is your goal.
