Just curious if anyone has tried this as a mod? My last benz was a 2006 ML500 and the little side view mirrors were not only too small, but now appear kinda dated in comparison to the new 09 models.

If I can only afford a used 08 GL550 do you think it would be possible to swap the side-mirrors out to slightly update the look and provide more safety?

A good first step would be to use EPC to determine how many parts are required. Are the internals the same or not?

Then, check the prices of the required components.

Then decide whether what is surely a minimum $2K customization is worth it.

Thanks again. That mod may be worth $500 to me at a max so if your 2k estimate is accurate then I'll just stick with the stockers!
