I used one of those in a motor home and while it was great to have when we stopped somewhere for the night, ever single overpass we went under killed the signal for a second or two. Made watching the news while driving a real pain in the butt.

I'd say the cost is ... WOW! And the ongoing expense is ... WHAT?!?!

Something like that.

AT&T is offering cruisecast.

http://www.cruisecast.com

Personally.... I think the antenna is still too large. An ugly at that. It might look a little bit better. If it was paintable to match the vehicles color.

The channel lineup isn't that great.

Nickelodeon
Disney Channel
Cartoon Network Mobile

I could see where it be good if you had kids.

I don't know if it requires another antenna but with that short a lineup and a low definition requirement it probably doesn't.

When I had TVs in my car, it was only ever for my kids and only ever DVDs anyway. They were almost never used. The biggest reason we used the DirecTV on the road with the motorhome was to watch the Weather Channel to see if we were headed for a storm. We did watch a few shows when we were stopped, but not much.
