CONTEST- to see who scored the best deal 09 GL550
#3
I'm working on deals at the moment and they seem to be stuck around 81 on 86 MSRP trucks. That is using MB rate of 1.9% for 66 months. There may be extra $$ in lieu of using the finance program, but I'm not ready to close yet. Last July I had $69,500 cash buy on 2008 GL 550 new vehicle 83K MSRP, so that's the bar as I see it.

The $69500 was LAST year before 2009s were out. We decided to wait due to improvements between model years. I am interested in more info you posted on completed deals as that is always a good barometer of what's going on. If you can share specific dealer info openly or PM if you think it's more appropriate. Thanks and enjoy yours!

09' GL 550 with rear TV's, lighted sills, tow hitch, ventilated seats, 3rd row and rear cargo mats, with MSRP $85,600K for $80,500 (500 over invoice) back in April with the 1.9% financing from MB.

I paid $500 over invoice for mine (2009 GL550) in April and nabbed the 1.9% APR. Had an offer for the exact same vehicle about 500 miles away for cost (dealer had just received vehicle so would have nabbed the full 3% holdback from Manufacturer which is surely why he was willing) but for $500 I was cool with buying locally and starting good relationship with the sole dealer in my area. If anyone needs invoice pricing, I have everything down to the tee (including dealer prep fees, etc).

I think my deal was very nice. I bought my 09 GL550 loaded with rear entertainment for $79,500. Also received $16,500 for my 03 Escalade which I was offered $12,500 last year in October for a 08GL550. Waited and received a great deal. I am very happy. I own a used car business so I was able to pull the right strings.

I was wondering about the $91k too - you paid *over* MSRP? I'm not sure what the bumper-to-bumper is worth (is that an extended warranty?) so perhaps that factors in but I paid $80,500 (which was ~$500 over invoice) for 09 550 with:
-Ventilated Seats
-Tow hitch
-Rear Seat DVD
Also scored the 1.9% APR for 66 months which means total interest I'll pay on my loan will be in the neighborhood of only $2k over 5 1/2 years.

Not sure if this is a good price?
I just got my 2009 GL550 with rear TV's, lighted sills, tow hitch, ventilated seats, 3rd row and rear cargo Tray, Chrome Door Handle Inserts, 2 AMG License Plate Frame and 2 AMG Key Chain on the last day of that 1.9% APR for $2500 below Invoice!
The Exact price was $77755 before tax and License!
Also Qualified for 1.9 APR

Thanks
What I did was I printed out the Edmunds.com's TMV and ask the dealer to beat it by 2500 dollars!
I just throw it out there but really did not think the sales manager would approve of the deal! Which I am glad he did. My wife and I are expecting twins in a month and has been shopping for a bigger car! and GL550 was my first choice!

Our twins are 7 now and the GL is a size you won't outgrow unless you have 4 kids. Saw 5 minutes of "Jon & Kate Plus 8" my wife was watching last night and it was pretty funny to see them driving this Dodge Sprinter van and behind the parents was 3 rows of car seats/kids in each row! Not many choices for a family of 10 together in one vehicle

John and Kate were on american chopper the other night too, there was a 350Z with a body kit on it and another minivan (mazda??) in the background when John was trying his new chopper on for size. Those two have made a ton of money off of the litter of kids they have
