Lowest Height Setting - How low is it?

Does any owner here have some pics of a GL at the lowest height setting?

Do you think this one seems to be too low? Some suspension issue or is it lowered (which is hard to believe since it's an SUV) or ...?

Any inputs is appreciated.

I think the photos make it seem too low but I doubt that it has been modified. ParkPlace is a reputable dealer. I bought mine from them, and it is nearly identical to this one, including mileage. Have the wheels been chromed or is just the photos that make them appear that way?

Thanks for the reply...

So yours is not that low even on lowest setting? If I'm not mistaken, there should be only 2 height setting... and the one in your sig is the lower setting, right?

Anyway, yes, the wheels are chromed... I don't mind switching them w/ yours LOL.

Zoink: It seems to me from all the negative camber I see on all four wheels that the vehicle in the pictures has been lowered. I can lower my 550, and it indeed induces some negative camber in the front suspension, but the one in the picture seems a bit exaggerated. It is nice-looking, however. Good luck in making your decision.

Yes, I think it's more pronounced in the rear. We'll see... what's the fair price for a car like this?

I think you will be lucky if you can get it for around $48-$49K. This is what they are selling for at dealers' auctions like Manheim.

wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole

either the air bladders are leaking or the suspension has been modified. Between that and the chrome rims, this one is an obvious pass.

First, based on the dealer reputation I'd give them the benefit of a phone call rather than just diss the whole thing, but that's your choice. However ... what's wrong with chrome rims, may I ask?

It looks like reserve was not met at 47.2K.

Equivalent settings

It is not necessarily so that anything has been changed on the vehicle physically to lower the ride, even if that has been done.

I just Sold my Audi allroad -
The Airsuspesnion computer measures each of the ride height settings above a Datum that is set into the vehicle management computer.
If I recall it is set in mm between the centre of the wheel hub and some reference on the suspension.

Now the Datum can be changed by Anybody with the servicing software and the appropriate cable.

Quite a few people 'hacked' their allroad to both lower and heighten the ride.

It was easy to do, and easy to put back to factory spec.

SO: IF the ride height of this GL has been altered, it may be as simple as plugging in a laptop and setting the datum back to factory spec.
