iPhone / iPod power converter

If, like me, you have an iPhone 3G and your media integration (option 518) wont charge the phone, you might be interested in this:
http://store.apple.com/uk/product/TS696LL/A

It purports to convert the power output from old iPod power to new wizzy iPod/iPhone power.

I've ordered one, and when I get it I will let you know if it works.

Hmmm... still no iPhone 3G charging even with the SCOSCHE power adapter...

Has anyone else had any success with this?

CableJive has a solution for this. I have the charger and a cable extension from cablejive for the iphone. Both are working. The extension cable comes out of the glove compartment so I can have my iphone at the console. Really - whose brilliant idea was it to put the iphone connection in the glove compartment? Anyway i hope this helps. I have an 09 GL 450.

I like mine being in the glovebox - but I just have a Nano and not and iphone. It keeps me from accidentally leaving the ipod in plain sight if the connection weren't "hidden" to keep would-be thieves away.
