Iridium Silver Metalic Charge
I am purchasing a 2009 GL450 in Iridium Silver Metalic Paint. Does the dealer charge $720.00 for the paint as a upcharge ? I did TMV pricing through Edmunds and priced out the dealer's vehicle. When I chose Iridium Silver there was no upcharge of $720.00. Can you advise if this a true charge to the buyer? This vehicle is a dealer trade. Also, is chrome roof crossbars part of the GL Appearance package. I was told the chrome roof crossbars were a extra charge.

The metallic paint charge is charged by the factory in Alabama, not the dealer (it was $500 for the '08s). Try pricing through the Mercedes website (if that is still available for the '09) and you will see what Edmunds missed.

Is the price of the Idrium paint on the 09's included into the base price.. My dealer is saying there is a charge of approx. $720.00 for the metalic paint which is listed on the invoice as well.

Metallic paint is 720 upcharge.
The only paint colors that don't have an upcharge are black and white. Any metallic has an up-charge. Try KBB or the MBUSA next time. The figure you get from sites such as edmunds, kbb etc are a very good approximation but not exact. Chrome roof bars on a GL450 are an upcharge. They can also be included in an appearance package, which of course you also have to pay for.
