SNOW TIRES AND WHEELS GL550

Just got a 09 Capri Blue and Ash GL550, premium leather, hitch and DVD.

I am going to buy new wheels and tires for winter. Thinking of the 20" Mandrus wheels (I would prefer chrome) and then gettting putting Blizzaks 265 50r20 which has revs of 681 and diameter of 30.6 inches. OEM's are revs of 688 and 30.3 inch diameter.

Would these Blizzaks go good in the snow? How about Goodyear Fortera TripleTred?

Also do some GL's have drilled hole rotors?

Exclamation SNOW TIRES AND WHEELS GL550

SPOKE TO A SERVICE REP WHO SELLS MANDRUS - THE 20" ACCORDING TO HIM CAN NOT SUPPORT THE WEIGHT OF THE GL550 - HAS ANYONE HEARD OF THAT?

Not sure of the statement regarding the Mandrus but seems odd.

We are on our second GL550 as a frequent winter driver in deep snow. There are several threads here on the subject. Currently running with Blizzaks on 18" rims with a similar spoke pattern to the stock AMGs. At first glance you wouldn't notice the difference. If you do significant snow driving I would strongly advise a smaller diameter wheel for improved traction. The difference is amazing!
