Hi,

I am negotiating a deal on a new 09 GL450. Given the fact that this beast has more electronics than all of my other cars combined, I am seriously considering extended warranty. If you bought one, can you post term, price, and whether you regret getting it.

Also, as far as I know, warranty prices are negotiable if bought from a MB dealer, right?

i just got a 7yr/75k warranty for my new gl320 for $3k. i hope i don't regret it! yes, prices are negotiable

I just spent nearly $3k in repairs (including service, after having my SA go to bat for me when I asked if MB could do anything as I was just out of warranty and they picked up half the bill) on my 2007. Now, had I actually purchased the warranty, I'd be breaking even (good only in Vegas). But then again, it's like not washing the car because it's going to rain, and then it never does. Had I gotten the warranty, nothing would've broken.

Could you please tell me the dealer you got it from? That's pretty low. The lowest I found so far is $3.4k.

Also, if you do not mind sharing, how much did you pay for GL?

Does not GL come with 4 year factory warranty? Your 2007 should be covered till 2011. Or, are you referring to a different car here?

Typical warranty is 4 yr OR 40k mi. Whichever first and all that bs!
