GL550 tires bow outward at bottom
IS it normal for the tires to bow outward- they are no vertical but have a slant to them? It looks like the camber is off. It is a new car so tires have no wear yet.
Is this normal?

It is possible that a slight appearance of bowing is normal; I'd ask both the dealership service advisor and whatever answer you get from him, compare it to either a trusted independant mechanic or tire shop. Just to get two opinions. I know that while sometimes a slightly odd appearance to the tires' position is normal, poorly adjusted suspensions and wheels will very quickly give odd wear and tear to the tires on a truck driven the way we drive.

Its called camber. That is normal. Helps the handling in the turns. GL has pretty high negative camber thus the wheels bow outwards from the bottom. Ever seen a X5? It has even more.

Dealer looked at it
All, thanks for your knowledge. Alignment was fine - the camber is supposed to have the outward bow at the bottom. The alignment tech though did adjust the rear height and said it was too high.
