BT Module: Interchangeable?

Looks like I may be taking advantage of MB Financial's pull-ahead program and getting out of my E63 a few months early and get into a 2010 GL450.

As I bought the BT module for my '08 E63, does any one here know if the BT module is interchangeable and all I have to do is plug and play?

You don't need a BT module in 09+ cars. It's built into the audio system. Keep the one from your E63 and sell it on Craigslist.

A little OT:
Are you sure you want to move from E63 to GL450? That's pretty dramatic move, IMO. I have a GL320 and after driving the GL a while, I really feel my E55 is faster than ever... LOL.

LOL indeed!

Am getting a shot of the realities of fatherhood responsibility as we just had our 2nd child on Thursday and though my wife has a minivan, I also want something to take the kids and their accoutrement since I seriously dislike driving the minivan.

The money factor and interest rate offered, plus MB Financial and the dealer's willingness to pull my lease ahead makes financial sense - something I don't get very often as my wife will tell you!

It'll be hard to drop off the AMG walk away from it at the dealer though...

nkole: thanks for the tip, much appreciated.

Just think about what they'll have ready for you when the nest is emtpy again! Then, like me, you'll be one of those old guys who's driving a MB.

Get an R63 ... that was something that I considered but decided not to go forward with it as I plan to keep this car "forever" (that's what I said when I purchased the bimmer 1.5 years ago... LOL). And that's why I got the diesel (since most taxi in Germany are mercedes diesel... so I assume the engine lasts a lot longer on top of better fuel economy ).

Back to topic:
To be honest with you, though. I'm pleasantly surprised w/ the GL... yes, the power is not abundant but good enough (who wants to speed on this car anyway? )... yes, the handling is worse. But other than that, it's a great truck. Big space, comfortable, economical (well, for the diesel ). And it's so practical that for the last 1.5 months I've owned the GL, I drove the GL for 2K miles and only 100 miles on my E55

You are slowing down too abruptly! Go for the 550.

Yeah, the 550 only has 1 one mpg penalty on the highway as compared to the 450.

Yes, the GL550 would've been the ideal replacement, but the lease residuals and money factors are much better for the GL450 and now that I'm a father of two, I feel the need to be more fiscally responsible!

I test drove the GL450 yesterday and am satisfied with day to day drive and performance, and the practical aspects of the car...I mean truck, just can't be beat.

I have to wait until the MB Financial programs to be revealed for September to see if it makes sense, the 450 I want is B4 status and estimated to be built by Sep 3rd with delivery 2-3 weeks after that, so hopefully the loyalty program with the 5 lease payment pull forward will remain in place for my deal to make sense.
