snow tires/rims
Whats everyone doing for snows? The GL550 rims are 21s so I was thinking to downsize a bit. Would 18s fit? From the GL450?

Check your owners manual.
There's potentially a problem with brake caliper clearance with smaller diameter wheels.
In my manual it's under technical data/rims and tires, and in 2007 the GL550 spec for winter tires was 265/55-19 on 8.5X19 ET56 wheels.

19 MB G63, '18 RR Dawn, '15 RR ATB LWB, '14/'08 MB GL550, '11 MB CL63 AMG, '11 X5 50i etc etc
20's on OZ's
I went with 20 blizzak's on OZ rims ...
Got them from tire rack...
Rides fine and hopefully will give more safety this winter..
Had 2 winters with 21 OEM AMG rims and decided to get better winter performance
