I did a lot of searching last fall when I ordered my GL 350. This is the most active forum devoted to the GL that I found. There are others but they can go days and weeks without a post. There are forums focused on Mercedes diesels but they are populated mostly by people with older cars. This is the one I keep coming back to,

Active or not, Benzworld's GL forum has participation from Drivbiwire, who's a 747 pilot and IMHO the reigning expert on diesels on both Mercedes and VW forums. When he's not flying all over the world, he runs a diesel repair shop. If I had a diesel question, I'd not bother here.
