2007 GL450 Bluetooth Issues

I have a 2007 GL450 and have paired my Verizon BlackBerry Curve 8300. However, when I try to download my contacts it tells me it failed. Also, the dialed and received call logs are always empty even though calls have been made and received. Does anyone know what the issues is, and how to resolve?

On the 2007 your address book should automatically download to the puck. The same goes for your call lists. If this is not happening, then you probably have an issue with your puck.

If you have a "work" BB then your IT might be enforcing a policy prohibiting transfer of contacts and phone logs via Bluetooth.

MB: C320 (2005) and '07 GL 450; Porsche: 911SC (1979), 997S (2006).
Unfortunately, it appears that some phones are simply not fully compatible with the Bluetooth software in the '07 Gl's. Some will allow you only the very basic functions (make and receive calls), and nothing else. Others will allow certain functions but not others. I found that out when I got my GL, and the phone I had been using in my MB sedan refused to transfer the phonebook just like you mention, even though it made calls. In the end, I had to switch phones.

Try This

I have a Blackberry 9630, but you may want to try the following: Go to "Bluetooth Options". There are several ways to get to this menu--one way is through "setup" menu. When you get there then "Enable Contracts Transfer".

I do not transfer my contacts because the GL's memory does not have sufficient space to handle all my contacts. I have the same issue on by E350 so I disabled the Bluetooth Contracts Transfer. The Command system will take about 10% of the contacts stored on my Blackberry, which is of no use to me, and takes what seems like a long time to do so delaying the time when I can use the Command system to make or receive calls via Bluetooth. I also found that I can more easily use my cell phone's contacts list because most of the calls I make are on speed dial.

Good Luck!

I have a BB Storm 2 and an 07 450gl. I have found out that the older serial number pucks don't load the contacts. Do you have a new puck or an older one?

I have a new puck.

The dealer gave me a puck in November 2009.

Below came from another thread. Sometimes when a dealer gives you a puck, it may be an older serial. Check the serial number from the info below.

If you pull the puck out of the center console and turn it upside down, there is a model number on the bottom. If the last 4 digits are 6131, then you have the newest style. If it says 5878, then you have the second to last generation, which should allow the contacts to be transfered. I believe the first generation was like 5838, or something like that, which have been known to not allow newer BB's to transfer contacts. The GL will hold up to 999 contacts, so you should be good.

I also cannot download my contacts using the B67875878 bluetooth puck with my Blackberry Curve 8330. The phone will work fine, but it is frustrating to not have this option available. I have a 2007 GL450. Has anyone had success with these two devices, or is this just one of the limitations?

It looks like you have the second generation puck. This will not transer the contact on some BB phones. You must have one.

I just replaced my Dare with a Palm Pre Plus from Verizon. My puck has downloaded (it seems) all my contacts, no problems. It also seems to connect better, faster, and is easier to switch to the phone while on a call (such as if I arrive at a destination and want to keep talking). The call does not drop when I shut the car off.

I have a BB Storm2, and a 07 GL450 and don't have any problems, other than it does take a few minutes to download. I have ~200 contacts - each with home, cell, office, e-mail.
