Driving Noise

Recently Ive been hearing some while driving. It seems to be coming from the tires...the car doesnt vibrate nor does it "pull" to either side....Ive checked the tire pressure and their fine, and to me the tires look fine....I took the car in to get this checked out and they told me the tires are balanced and the car is aligned, and that the noise was coming from "feathered" tires....they also said the only way to eliminate/correct this noise was to purchase new tires

i really didnt trust this service rep, i just got a bad feeling about him....just wanted to get ur guys opinions

Thanks

Same. I think it may have to do with RFTs.

C63, GL450, Panamera S, lots of little British leakers
ALL of our Mercedes have developed scalloped front tires, some at as few as 15k miles, some as much as 35k.

Its a function of front end design and alignment.

The only prevention is to rotate the tires regularly front to back.

We buy our replacement tires from tirerack.com, and have them installed at a reputable local tire shop.

I just bought a pair of fronts for the S550... Tire Rack: $321, indi tire store: $363, MB dealer over $400 per tire.
