Hi,

I drive GL 320 CDI with 19" continental tires and just back from a long trip to Nashville,TN.

I noticed this evening that my rear left tire has a convex (going inwards) shape bulge going vertically across the tire. My vehicle has about 15K miles so far in about 2 years. I have been only twice on a long trip exceeding 500 miles so mostly city driving so far.

I have attached 2 pictures and I hope you can see it.

Have any of you noticed this before and what may be the cause/severity of this?
I will be calling my dealer tomorrow morning to see what they will say but wanted to check if any member has experienced it before.

Appreciate your inputs.

this is where the tread plies are glued together.

nothing to worry about.

sidewall bulges are the one to look for...

BTW, if it goes inwards it's concave. And it's a depression, not a bulge.
