cabin air filter - DIY

How often should the cabin air filter be replaced? Is that some thing to do as DIY? if so, would you tell me how?

A/C Filter Replacement

The M-B service booklet states that these filters should be replaced every 26,000 miles or two years but with a note that more frequent replacement may be necessary if the vehicle is operated in dusty conditions.

The official replacement procedure instructs you to access these filters from the front passenger area behind the glovebox - see attachment.

Others, myself included, have changed these filters from the engine compartment which seems easier. Just remove the black plastic duct that sits under the right-side hood air inlet vent (unfasten 2 clips) and then wriggle the filters out. Pay attention as you remove the first filter as this experience will help you to wriggle the new filters back into place without damaging the elements.
