Strange fluid around front passenger seat
The carpeting directly under and around the front passenger seat of our '07 GL450 is damp and stained. It doesn't appear to be water and has an acid like consistency (was not drying out on it's own). I was afraid it something to do with the battery and had the dealer investigate.
The dealer said there was some fluid present in the battery well but couldn't identify it. They checked the pillars and sunroof for water leaks but didn't find any. The battery checked out okay and didn't show any signs of fluid leaks. The dealer concluded that we must have spilt something ourselves but AFAIK that was not the case. They shampooed the carpets but the yellow-ish stains still remain.
I'm concerned this had something to do with the battery but can't see how that is possible. I suppose if the area stays dry for a month or two we can attribute the problem to a spill. Any ideas or similar experiences by anyone?
