Keyless Go

Hi! I have a 2009 GL320 and have had ongoing problems with the Keyless Go system since delivery last June. The car does not recognize the key at times, to the point where it sometimes has to be touching the ignition button for the car to start. The fob batteries have been replaced on both keys, as has the antenna, without improvement. This has been quite frustrating, especially since I have had keyless entry/start on other cars (Lexus,BMW) dating back to 2005, and all were flawless. Any thoughts?

suggest working with the dealer. I have a 320 and never had that issue. a few times need to pull on the handle twice before unlocking but not the norm. I have found the feature in the mb to be much better than my BMW's

Never had the lack of connection problem. I'm also pretty sure that the antenna is not near the ignition switch. And the two-pull for the unlocking only happens if you don't lock / unlock the car for somewhere around a day or two - conservation of battery. Definitely get it into the dealer and make a scene. Good luck!

Something to get the dealer to try (at his expense of course) - It is just possible there is something wrong with the transponder in the key that causes it to transmit a very weak signal. If that is the case, the dealer should be able to make it work properly by matching a NEW key to the car and trying it out.
The fact that the issue happens both at the ignition antenna (under the dash) and at the door(s) makes me believe it isn't the individual transmit/receive devices located in many places in the car.
