How can I read the service codes?
Greetings from a newbie!
My GL-450 is close to a schedule C service being due and I'd like to know exactly what the computer says needs to be done. Is there a way to read the codes?
I tried a search and only found info regarding resetting the codes. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your maintenance booklet advises what needs to be done.
"C" probably means you're at 40K miles and the additional service required at that time is the transmission fluid/filter change. That's $400 by itself.

Thanks for the response.
The maintenance booklet lists the numerical codes and describes what the service is. It doesn't say anything about schedule letter codes. I want to know this before hand so I can decide whether to DIY or at least know if an SA is BSing me when they read the codes
Anyway, I figured out how to read the codes so now I know exactly what needs to be done. BTW the tranny service was NOT on the list.

How do you read the codes?

Start with the engine off and door closed.
1-put key in ignition and turn to position 1 (one click)
2-using the menu buttons (left side of steering wheel) select the odometer display
3-press the R button (top center of instrument cluster) 3 times quickly
You should hear a beep and the display will read "U.V. ##.###" (suspect this is battery voltage since it reads almost 12 volts. You have now accessed the service settings menu.
My wife is currently out with the car (its her's) so when she gets back I'll take a second look and post more info regarding how to use the steering wheel buttons to navigate the menu displays......
