2011 GL 450 Rim size 20x10 can they fit without rubbing???

10.5 with ET 42 would look great and you would not need spacers. It would extend out an additonal 1 mm which is not going to make a difference.
You can run a 5 mm spacer on the 42 offset wheels and get to an ET 37 which would be the right offset given the 550 fender flares. Make sure you get the right length lug bolts and they match the seat of the new wheels.
I would say go with a 305 -40-22 tire or a 303-35-22 if your lowered.
I have 305-40-22 on a lower gl450, no flares on 22x9.5 et 50 rims and the fronts are just a bit inside the wheel well, almost flush. I do get a little rub and full turn in reverse. nothing else.
I wonder how the mandrus et42 rim would look on a gl450 with no flares and 305s?

You can't always go with the offset of a wheel, because depending on what style wheel it is...backspacing is more important than offset. Factory mercedes wheels usually don't have a lip...or at the most a small lip...with a curved back spoke.
I said the 54mm on a 20X10 would be better suited, because if you look on the TSW/Mandrus site...they recommend the 20X9 (ET42) for the GL. The OP wanted to go with a 20X10 wheel. The specs for the wheel are 20X9 (with a 1.75" lip), and the 20X10 (has a 3"lip).
Also...when buying wheels...outside of the wheel mfg suggested sizes...your usually on you own if you have any issues (rubbing vibration ect......stupid practice by mfgs....but so true!!)
does the 10.5 simply add a .5 inch to the outside and inside? or is the backspacing stay the same and the rim pushes out one inch?

do you have any picks of your gl on the web?
What size are your rims again 22x? et35 with 305 40 22 tires right?
I'm starting to think I'm better off staying with my 9.5 size rim and just push the offset out a bit more.

sorry, i need a bit of clarity as i am not mechanically minded!
i am thinking of replacing my 20"x10" Brabus monoblocks fitted with 275 50 20's with a set of 22"x 9.5" ET 35 alloys with a 305/40/22 tyres...
why would you change the offset next time round?
my GL is standard ( ie no wheelarch flares ); what can i expect?
will there be rubbing anywhere?
will the tyres stick beyond the standard wheelarches?
how was the ride altered?
sorry for questions, but def best to ask before finding out problems the hard way!
thanks for any responces in advance
