Help with questions
Hey guys! Got some questions for you with my new GL.
1. Is there a way to get in dash DVD from the navi to play while driving without spending $700+ for the navTV module that doesnt look like it'll give me any other features but be able to play DVD while driving. Other suggestions?
2. Is there a service that provides DVD music videos to play while driving like from XM radio or something?
3. My car came with Sirius XM I believe. The stations are terrible. XM Radio stations are much better. Theyre owned by the same company right? Can I get my stations switched to XM instead of Sirius?
4. I went to the gas pump the other day and there were two diesels pumps? One didnt fit in my GL350's gas hole, it was too big. I think it was a high pressure filler for semis or something. Is there a way to tell which are which as pulling up? anybody gone to fill up and they didnt have the regular diesel pumps that fit in?

2. Sirius does offer a video service but you need to purchase a seperate unit and it only offers 3 channels: Nickelodeon, Disney Channel and Cartoon Network Mobile.
3. Sirius and XM ARE the same company, hence the name SiriusXM.
4. I dont know, I have a GL450.

Per your question #4, I've only run into this once at a truck stop in the middle of nowhere. They had one pump for passenger vehicles and then multiple for trucks. Other than the one pump for passenger vehicles being the closest to the store there were no signs indicating the difference. Usually if a truck stop has gas they will have the passenger vehicle diesel pumps in the same lanes as gas pumps. I have never seen the larger nozzles at a normal (non truck stop) retail station.
How are you liking your 350 pteam? Impressions? It took me a few months to get used to the diesel but it has really grown on me.

You want a station just touch screen it, something else touch it. The navigation view are terrible on the benz. What view do you guys find works best?

I'm in love with it! I'm averaging like 25mpg and 27-28mpg, and this is in the winter where we get lower gas milage on everything. I just tinted the wintedows limo tint all around. The GL puts my hummer to shame. It gets twice the gas milage and is much more comfortable. I dont have to spend 10 minutes taking out the rear seats and sweating and ready to smash the window out afterwards. Just push 3 buttons and bam. The interior is the nicest I've been in.

One of the forum members on the other site got a reply on a question we've been waiting for:

"Hi I'm very sorry I tested the unit and the navigation does get disabled while watching videos"
I had asked the vendor the same question - guess he hasn't responded back to me. I guess we need to re-evaluate this option then for the rest of us. Having NAV disabled sort of defeats the purpose as lets say your using NAV for guidance and then with DVD on, your sort of SOL for directions (now it depends on how frequent you are using both)... comments?
