Nav retrofit
Any input would be great.
Thanks
The OEM mercedes navigation is TERRIBLE! The worst nav system I've ever seen. An aftermarket one will be way way better, you'll have touch screen and a bigger screen, and dvd while driving. My aftermarket unit I put in my hummer was 20 times better than the mercedes one.
I also have a 2007 4Runner Ltd. with the Toyota/Lexus navigation system. If you want to talk about annoying, try having to press the "I Agree" legal disclaimer button EVERY time you start the vehicle. How about having to push the "Audio" button EVERY time you shift out of reverse. Apparently, to the engineers at Toyota, you must be lost and turning around in someone's driveway and in need of the nav function anytime the car is put in reverse. How about having to punch your way through three menus every time you want to connect a different cell phone via Bluetooth. And yes, the Toyota has a touch screen but I can't quite figure out what is so great about having fingerprints all over your screen all of the time, buttons that have to be pushed just right or the wrong letter is entered or a screen that doesn't work quite as well when it is cold out. Personally, I think the input method in the GL is easier (not by much) to use than a touch screen once you get familiar with it. Just thought I'd throw in my $.02.
Basically, I'm putting my effort into learning the voice input.

I believe the '10 Comand can load the DVD right into it? and view it in the Comand screen as well?
If not, what to go with for RES? Vizualogic? Rosen? Invision?
[I did a search but those threads go back a few years...hoping for someone who put in an aftermarket in '10/'11.
Thanks.
Thats the aftermarket navigation I had in my hummer. Im not sure what version that is in the video but get the newest version. Let me tell you that nav unit is 100x better than the one in the benz. Touch screen , dvd while driving, big screen, every thing you could need.
