Airmatic suspension leakage or seepage

Wow My first Post!
First i want to thank everyone for thier contributions to this forum. I've been thouroughly educated from this site through the yrs.......anywayz!

I am 1 day away from owning an 08 GL450. It has a little over 25k miles, drives and looks great. During my Pre-purchase inspection the technician mentioned that there appeared to be evidence of leakage on the supension. He suggested that it be monitored and or replaced in the very near future or I may have some problems.

1. Is this a common occurance for the GL450?
2. Is there any situation where this WOULD NOT be covered under the MF warrenty?

Thanks

If the vehicle is still under the MF warranty, it will be covered. It looks like it would be still under warranty mileage wise, however, it may be out depending upon the exact date the vehicle went into service. While not uncommon with age..... 25K sounds very early for leakage.

I have an '07 GL450 and the rear shock, not air springs, had a leak. If I recall, it happened around 30K miles.

Interesting.......thanks for the update. Was it still under warrenty. Did your MB dealership cover the replacement?

Covered under warranty...it wasn't a simple job either. Had to remove the inner rear panels around the 3rd row seats to get access to the shock.
