2008 GL 320 CDI
Mirror Swap
I own a a '08 GL 320 with the first mirror style there was. And I simply hate them. The car is a US version and for some reason, not clear to me the two mirrors are A) Different- so there is difference between what you see and how big you see it and B) They do not have their corners bent... so they provide you with an extra large blind spot. I thought MB ****ed up but i recently discovered that European models have their mirrors right. So i guess it is some kind of US ''safety regulation''
So this brings me to the question: does anyone have the part codes for the latest mirrors, the ones that look like on the S-class?
And do they fit at all on vehicles with the previous mirror styles?

To fit the facelift mirrors requires
mirror cover with light
mirror motor
mirror glass
Or, probably on eBay somebody from China sells a cover only that fits the original innards and looks "mostly" like the facelift Mercedes item.

The deal is that i do not have any problem with the looks of the mirrors, rather the visibility they provide. The facelifted mirrors on an European GLs give you so much better visibility, especially in terms of blind-spot.
