2008 GL450 Bluetooth Installation
Recently purchased a 2008 GL450 and dealership recommended I actually "install" the bluetooth device myself, as it would be much cheaper.
After spending ~8 hours reading through all the materials, I still feel as though I'm confused.
I purchased the MB cradle adapter B6 787 6131 and if I understand the directions correctly, I need to connect the cradle to the contact plate. The contact plate is underneath the protective cap, but for some reason I cant get the protective cap off.
I'm sure I'm just missing something completely obvious, but if anyone can give me hints on how I might expose the contact plate, that would be awesome.
Thanks

Just get a small screwdriver or kitchen butter knife or similar and put under one edge and pry up slightly. It will pop right off. You then slide the BT adapter on from rear of car to front.

Bringing this back from the dead. I am also trying to connect an iPhone to my new to me 2008 GL 450. The Bluetooth adapter that was gifted to me looks different than the one pictured. I unable to pair my phone to this particular bt adapter and I am concerned that it is not the correct one for this vehicle. When I install the adapter into the cradle, both blue lights blink on the adapter, but I am not seeing it when I am in the Bluetooth menu on my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My adapter is pictured below.

That's the one I used in my 08 550, so it should work. IIIRC, you have to push the MB star on the adapter to get it into pairing mode.

did you get it to work? the lights flash differently
I recently had it that puk wasn't working and had to turn off car and restart then could get lights to flash in pairing mode and accept phone (with same blue puk as in photo)
