Blackberry phone sounds like crap through Command/Bluetooth
My wife's phone sounds like crap when she calls me from her new GL350 paired through bluetooth/Command. It sounds like she's calling me from an airplane - i.e. lots of wind noise and echo.
She brought the car in to Mercedes today and they claim it's the phone. They say it's a common problem for Blackberries.
Has anybody had a similar experience? Maybe it's just that Mercedes doesn't work well with Blackberry, and not that Blackerries don't work well with Mercedes???

MBWorld Fanatic!
Me and my wife both have BlackBerries and it sounds good in both of our cars - GL and E class. Try to go to another dealer. Also, make sure windows/sunroof closed.

That is complete bull…. however, it may be a defective bluetooth adapter. Either get a new one at the dealer or try our more Blackberry friendly Viseeo MB2.

i think i may have figured out the problem last night... I ran a series of tests - paired my Droid Bionic to the GL and compared it to the Blackberry... I drove around and talked on both phones and they both seemed to work fine... I had my wife drive around and talk to me at home and I figured out that she tends to talk really loud when on the mobile phone which tends to distort the sound... when i got her to talk in a normal tone, everything sounded fine - minimal distortion and no background noise...
So my conclusion is that talking very loudly on the phone makes it sound like crap... We'll see if this theory continues to hold water over the next few days

That is very true....welcome to my world. I spend my entire day telling people to talk in a normal tone. Don't shout at the car. The Mercedes has a constant feedback loop system, and when talking too loud tries to over compensate. Just talk normal and it will work much better. Your original post sounded like the tunnel problem some people have, which is different than the distortion/choppy talking too loud issue.
