Seen the X166 yesterday

Thanks for the insights into the Canadian market - I did not appreciate that there is a meaningful difference with the U.S. market.
YZZ-E55, you are right that the next GL550 will be impressive - and, speaking objectively, as much as anyone really needs from a performance perspective as is the case with the current GL550. But I think the AMG version would just sharpen it up even more, from bodywork to engine sound to handling and braking, that would make it compelling for at least a few of us.
Do you know what the line-up is expected to be? GL550 and GL350 Diesel but what about the mid-level V8? I presume that goes away and the offer the GL350 gas and GL550 and the diesel. That makes for a big jump to the GL550 and then I wonder whether they will make it as aggressive looking as the former GL550 when they had another V8 option in the GL450 to satisfy the soccer moms. Hiding the exhausts like the ML550 and no flared fenders would be a disappointment if there is no (gulp) GL63.
Thanks

If you look closely at the rear shot I think I see exposed exhaust outlets - on what looks like a base GL350 model. I hope that means MB will keep the tail pipes exposed on the GL rather than cover them like the new ML (except the ML63 of course).

Yes, I agree....it appears that the tips are going to be exposed unlike the ML. One of my customers today was griping about how they hid them unlike before.

I don't like the new look. They flattened out the hood - took out the classic dual humps (reminiscent of the old SL300). And the grill is too large - I like the smaller opening of the current model.
I know it's a bit hard to tell with all the camo, but so far it's looking like the current design is more attractive.

From what i can tell, the new design seems to look ok. Seen a lot of new MLs in the area lately. The look hasn't grown on me one bit.
Here are a few more camo pix of the new GL:

Sort of reminds me of the Durango:

makes sense. next year, I need to make the big decision on whether to go for the Durango R/T or the GL. I like how the Durango looks from the front and side, but the rear is hideous.

When it comes to the W164 and W166 Im torn on which one looks better to me. When it comes to the X164 and the X166 Im not, the X166 is awesome in person out of camo.
