Spark Plug & Battery

When to replace spark plugs on 07GL450? miles and years old?

Is replacing battery an DIY. Anybody has procedures. My wife doesn't drive much of our GL450 and it is on battery trickle charger lately. I know one of these days battery is going to give up. What should be battery voltage prior to start? Do I have to put the factory battery or I can put anything other brand? And how about reprogramming the all the service history and tranny software update. Will I need to do that again? Any help would be appreciated.

Our GL is 5 years and 6 month old and has ~64K miles on the clock.

2008 Barolo Red GL450, P1, 19" pkg, ipod, ill. door sills, running boards, trailer hitch, keyless go
Just call MB roadside (800-367-6372) and they will come out and install a new one w/o a labor charge(1 hr) (you have to pay for the battery ~ $270). It took them about 30 min and was fairly easy.
