Are you just living with the 1.3% speed difference?

I spoke to my dealer, he said it's not an issue. Many people do it.

No, I agree that it's fine - as long as the diameter of all the tires is the same the AWD system will be OK.

I was wondering if you'd had the speedo recalibrated to match or you just accept that it's reading slightly low.

This car is my wife's DD. I honestly doubt she knows where speedometer located. But seriously, 0.8 miles difference is not even so much to think about it.

I agree. Not a big deal to go with 285/50. I went with a slightly larger size on my old Cayenne S years ago and it wasn't an issue. There are so few options with 275/50!

Given the price differential and the small rolling diameter change, makes sense.

Thanks guys.

My 740Li had run flats and the ride was hard, loud and uncomfortable. I just put non run flat snows on and the car is much quieter and the ride is now similar to my S550. My point is that run flats are evil. I learned this the hard way after doing much research on Bimmerfest. I have the $20 slime kit and will never go with run flats again. They could be a deal breaker in my next car

Totally agree about the deal breaker. Luckily my old 750i ran on non-runflats but the GL ride is now killing me.

Here's a update. I went to the dealer last Friday. They had there head mechanic take a look at it, Dustin. He took apart 90% of the steering column, and said everything looked good. When he re assembled everything, it feels more tighter, but still not the same.

Any consumer problems, it is better to take an attorney's advice to claim. If it is manufacturer's problem or dealer's issue you can claim againt him. All these issues come under your state lemon law. Contact your state attorney for initial free consultation.

Thanks for the info, but I think I will hold off. In the spring I'll probably get rid of this GL and sell if back to one of the dealers. And end up getting the new ML350(with xenons and sprit package) or a GL 550.

MBUSA never did anything but the dealer finally agreed to pay for installation of new tires. I went with Yokohama Parada 285/50s and they sound and feel great... and they're so much less expensive than RunFlats! The ride is so much quieter and smoother. Bought a $20 tire repair kit.

Thanks for everyone's inputs.

suspension noise

Glad to see that I'm not the only one experiencing these issues. I am making a appt to get my suspension checked out tomorrow. I also hear weird noise between 80 and 83 MPH. I suspected it had something to do with the suspension and now I am for sure. When I go over a bump or into my driveway, I hear a popping noise. This wasn't present when it was NEW. I now have 30K miles and it rides kind of rough and takes the bumps in the road hard. I am also experiencing some issues with the push to start. It will start as it is suppose to and shut off, it just won't turn off the electronics when you open the door. I have replaced the key fob batteries etc..I want this fixed, its a pain in the butt. As far as the suspension, I will keep everyone posted..

wow

My 2011 GL350 has just the opposite ride, it rides like a 72 Caddillac with 9 people in it. It just floats, not bad but it kinda lumbers down the road.
