08 GL 450 - out of gas...
On vacation, wife just ran out of gas but the gauge was still on 'reserve fuel' - hadn't hit the bottom of the gauge and the console hadn't displayed the "Refuel now" warning. It's 14 degrees here. Wondering if maybe that contributed to an inaccurate reading. any ideas?

Well that's strange and flat out sucks. I honestly don't know if the below freezing temperature would have any role/factor in it but I personally try to fill up my tank everytime the needle hits 1/4.
That way the gas doesn't have to explode up everytime to power the car to go. So I don't have to change my fuel filter with a shorter life span.

I think the temp may be able to contribute to a gas reading. I know it did years ago on an older Chevy... as I ran out when it was stuck on 1/4 tank. But I also would think that new technology should be able to adjust accordingly. Bummer. But I bet she fills up around 1/4 tank more often.

That story sounds like what my wife would do when it is cold out: "Honey, it was so cold I kept driving it hoping I could get where I was going and hoping not to actually HAVE to get out and put fuel in until after it warmed up"!
