Need help

Hi All,

I'm looking for a little help from the board, I'm considering buying a 07-09 Gl450 for my wife and am trying to figure out the options. I wanted to know what options are a must have for you or something I shouldn't miss...

I only ask because I am debating between 2 vehicles similarly equipped but one has keyless go and the other has RSE. I would love both options and could use the RSE for the kids as they are use to it now but never had keyless and seems like it would also be useful.

Thanks in advance

I just picked up an 09 today for my wife. Wife likes keyless go casue she always loses her keys. She can keep it in her purse now. Also have the RSE for my 2 kids. That's probably more important for me. If I had to do it again, I would make sure the car had bixenons.

I got a 2011 last week with both Keyless Go and RSE. My previous R class had Keyless Go and I totally loved it to the point that it became a requirement for when searching for a new one. I didn't have RSE on the R and I always used a portable DVD player for my kids but wires where hanging out all over the place. Now the two independent devices look and work fantastic. Of I had to give one of the options up it would be the RSE. IMO once you go Keyless Go you never go back. The very first time you get near the car with your hands full and realize you don't have to free your hands to reach in your pocket for the keys you will be sold.
Regarding RSE, rumor has it that MB will be putting iPads on the back of headrests starting in 2013. There is already a MB rack that installs on the back of the seats permanently and holds an iPad securely. I assume there are cables going through the seat. There is a post on this device from another member on this or the other forum (not sure which)

I love my 2016 gl350
Rse can be replaced with iPad or portable DVDs. But keyless go have no replacement. Keyless go= better resale value. I enjoy my keyless every time I get in and out of the car. The kids stopped using the RES each has I phone or iPod.

If the car has Keyless Go - that means this package has Bi xenon lights and Harmon Kardon Stereo. So, you actually buying more than just Keyless go.
I vote for Keyless Go also.

Most forward looking research says RSE is going to be gone soon..... the portable devices are easier, and , even more sophisticated than what MB or any of the manufacturers can mass produce and put in the vehicles! Keyless... is great!

I think my statement is true for 2010 and up cars. Not sure about 2008-2009, but keyless go is part of a package anyway.

That's what I always thought too, however my 2011 GL450 with P2 and keyless go has all options imaginable except xenon lights. You have to get the lighting package to get Xenons and that includes front LED DRLs but no fog lights. Can't have Xenons and fogs together which IMO is dumb. LED DRLs although nice, they provide nothing other than bling...

You are correct. I totally forgot about lighting package. Xenon lights are not included in P2.
