I didn't have any problem once I found the setting in COMMAND under the phonebook. I haven't figured out, however, if there is a way to change the way the contacts are imported. In my BMW, I can have it imported first name, last name. In my GL450, it appears I can only import is last name, first name, which makes it a big pain to find via voice command.

Since I recently got a 4, it's last name first only for me, too.
This is Apple and not the 1st time they've "upgraded" to something incompatible with Mercedes. One 3G era upgrade completely eliminated loading contacts to to my GL but the next one fixed it.

I was always able to update contacts from my Iphone started with the 3GS up to 4 running with latest version of updated 5 works greats.
