Paddle shift
At slow speeds and requiring turning I am forever hitting the left paddle shifter with my finger. Obviously that put the car in 1'st gear and causes problems; probably because I'm too old and too senile 
to drive properly.Is there a way to turn it off save removing a finger?
I am forever grateful.

I am sure that will be a better solution than remove your finger
