LED license plate light out?

LED license plate light out?
I've got one of the two factory LEDs out on my license plate. It flickered a bunch for a week or so then went out altogether.
I don't get any errors in the dash display (should I?)
Is it out or just not connected well? I've removed the liftgate trim peice allowing me to access the LEDs, but am nervous to mess with it. I'm temped to buy a new set, but if there's another solution out there, I'd much rather keep my $30 for the replacement set.
