2008 GL450 & iPhone

Hello everyone. I'm new to this site (and to owning MB) and found it doing some google searches for iPhone integration for my wife's 2008 GL450. I'm sure this is a well tread topic, but my searches of the forum weren't too successful. Is there a way to integrate an iPhone 4s so that the phone and music can be used via the GL's controls? I've looked and it only appears to have an AUX plug in the glove box. My MB dealer told me they could integrate an iPod for about $500, but I forgot to ask them about the phone. There is a cradle in the arm rest but it's clearly not for an iPhone.

Appreciate any help on this.

Thank you!

The cradle in the armrest is for a bluetooth 'puck'. That allows bluetooth connection to use your iphone with the car. You can make and receive calls, have the call sound route through the speakers, etc. I don't have an iphone so can't say for sure how well it does transferring your contacts, etc. but there are people who can. There are some threads on bluetooth streaming through them, some have had success, others like me haven't.

The aux port is for audio streaming. At the time iphones weren't considered, just ipods. It allows you to connect your Apple product and control and play it through the speakers. There are some limitations. It has no capability for the phone.

Thank you Jim. I'll look into the puck for the arm rest cradle. I was able to very easily integrate my iPhone or any iPod into my GMC Yukon Denali, and can even control it with the truck's touch screen. It was a plug in through the XM satelite receiver. I realize were talking totally different animals with GMC and MB, but I was hoping there was some device that could achieve a similar result. The MB is going in for regular service this week, so I've asked them give me a price.
