Tire pressure sensors

Tire pressure sensors
I recently purchased an 08 GL450. It had aftermarket wheels that I took off for the winter and will put back on in the spring. I bought some used MB factory wheels with snow tires. I had a tire store swap the tires out for me and the tire sensor light came on. I took the car back to the tire dealer and they told me that the snow tires I bought had the wrong frequency and that I should buy some 315 megahertz sensors which I found online. I now get a reading that I don't even have an tire pressure sensors. Does anyone know to figure out what sensors I need and how to get the car to recognize that I have the right sensors?

I think the tire dealer told you the wrong thing. You probably had the newer 2010+ TPMS installed; and this is the year they swapped over to Schrader 433mhz. Prior to 2010 (including you '08), they were using Seimens 433mhz TPMS.
So what you need are the Seimens 433 mhz installed and then the car will just "recognize" them without you having to do anything. I swap between summers/winter sets and never had to do a thing on both an old '07 and now my '10.

I'm sure you can find them cheaper, but this is what you need.

I actually just traded in the Q5 for a Q7 because my wife wanted the third row seats as well. The Q7 3.0T engine is amazing and the car is pretty quick for an SUV - but I still like the inside and the ride of the GL.
