GL 550 vs new range rover
so ive been looking around alot lately, my lease ends on my gl450 in september 2013. was looking at the new gl 550 and damn looks awesome, but so does the new range rover, wanted to see what you guys think would be a better choice

Fully loaded 550 in Canada is 130k , fully loaded Range Rover Supercharged is 150k, I would go for the 550 as the Range Rover although a great redesigned vehicle feels no where close to 150k from the outside at least. ( more options in the range but again $$$ as well)
Gl63 and Range Rover supercharged are about the same price (ignoring stupid options like the $17,000 paint choice for the Range) with the benz still costing less, so if you dont mind the price why not go for a 63?

I have not driven either but from a very observant perspective the Range Rover is pure crap, the body is not straight on them around the rear wheel arches, very poor paint finish and body gaps (check the front bumper to fender clearance), not much interior room, has many Ford design clues (tail lights, tailgate styling), it does not have any quality to the construction of the vehicle. It may drive like nothing else, but from detailers point of view not a vehicle worth buying at any price point. Doors are soft too as the hinges are mounted in alum (lots of flex).
The GL is huge in comparision and much nicer finishing, straight body panels, well fitted trim etc. Some gaps maybe large but always symetrical/even. 2013 GL is already sold out around here.
