New 350 on order, but...
I currently have a 2013 GL350 on order for the end of May. I always purchased gently used luxury cars and always have appreciated great bang for the buck. Currently driving a 2007 LS460 that I purchased with 26,000 miles at half the cost of new, so I'm having difficulty with the order. The car is mostly going to be driven by my wife, and she thought the 2013 Blutec a significant upgrade over previous models, and used GL350's are in short supply and are not much cheaper than new.
Should I just bite the bullet and buy new or should I try to convince her to go gas with a used GL450? Used Lexus is a no-brainer due to never having to do anything for these car except put in gas, tires and brakes. No sure about the GL450 reliability, but will try to find one with some warranty life on it.

similar scenario
I was in a similar scenario. I ordered December 12th and the delivery/production date slid twice all the way back to production last week of March, delivery mid April. I was fine waiting, got a reasonable deal off MSRP. Then, while out at dinner with the wife I saw a silver 350 (2011) behind the dealer just traded. Out of kicks i went over and looked at it, and it was the cleanest pre owned car i had ever seen. The interior was without blemish, the exterior had only one pinpoint ding on the paint (front bumper). It was more loaded than the one i had on order and would save 27k! Did the deal and happy. One owner non leased car well documented.
My MB dealer was ok with the order cancel, he changed the color on the 350 on order and will sell it on the lot. If I had not found one so very clean I would have stayed with my order, but I could not pass up the arrangement.

2015 Ram 2500, former 2013 GL350, 2007 GL450
Seems like KrustyK had a good approach. Take a look around while you are waiting and if you find something you like, go for it. If not take the new one. I would be surprised to see a 2010/2011 GL350 go for half of MSRP though.
There is a significant improvement in many areas with the X166 (2013) compared to the X164 (2007-2012).
